Search for a Qualified Teacher

Tips for searching for a teacher

If you are searching by postcode, only put the first half of the code in (e.g. CB4, SE12 etc) - for a wider search, enter only the first 2 letters of the postcode

If you want a list of all teachers in a particular county, select that county from the drop-down menu and leave all other boxes blank

To find details of a particular teacher, simply type in the teacher's surname (or part of) in the appropriate box.

In order to ensure a high quality of teaching, all certified Iyengar teachers have undergone rigorous training and assessment. The information given on this website for each teacher includes the certification levels they have achieved, and the years in which they qualified at each level.

The certification levels comprise:

• Introductory
• Junior Intermediate – levels I, II and III
• Senior Intermediate – levels I, II and III
• Junior Advanced – levels I and II
• Senior Advanced – levels I and II

If you are new to Iyengar Yoga, then an Introductory level teacher is suitable. Teachers qualified above Introductory level may also run Beginners classes, or General classes suitable for beginners.

Students new to Iyengar yoga who are pregnant, or suffering from injury or a medical condition should attend classes given by a teacher who has Junior Intermediate level II qualification or higher. Please tick the ‘Remedial’ box to search for teachers qualified to deal with these conditions.
